On February 7, 2020, our Director of Internet Marketing, Priyo Mukherjee, was invited by Mr. Sanchayan to attend a discovery session held by the Reliance Group’s newly set up Jio Institute. The session was held from at the Tai Palace, in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi to discover ‘Emerging Trends in Digital Media & Marketing Communications.’ As well as the needs facing the new student-centric and research focused on multi-disciplinary higher education institution.
Priyo attended with 51 other guests, to discuss specifically the digital marketing training needs for the new Jio Institute. It was an honor for Priyo and Boomtown Internet Group to be selected to attend the briefing. The session was held by Dr. Dipak Jain (Former Dean, Kellogg School of Management and INSEAD; Board member of RIL and Reliance Retail) and Professor Frank Mulhern, Executive Director, Academic Programs, San Francisco Campus for Medill School of Media and Journalism at Northwestern University.
Reliance Group plans to begin offering academic programs in 2021 and will be set up from its headquarters in Navi Mumbai. The well-funded program will begin with 150 acres for an educational system for everyone. Dean Dipak and Professor Mulhern will lead the program to bring first Digital Marketing education, and then more and more curriculum online and accessible to everyone.
Priyo was selected to discuss the academic digital marketing needs and help the Jio Institute set a research agenda. He was among 52 leading Indian and international educators, researchers, administrators, and practitioners asked to attend.

Dr. Deepak Jain is the European President and Professor of Marketing at the China Europe International Business School and is a globally-recognized marketing and innovation expert. He has published more than 60 articles in leading academic journals and has earned the prestigious John D.C. Little Best Paper Award. He also received the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas from the Prime Minister of India, an award for exceptional leadership contributions of overseas Indians.
Dr. Frank Mulhern holds the Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani Chair at Medill School and specializes in research on the economics of marketing, the impact of media technology on marketing communications and the role of employees in customer experiences. He is the co-author of the textbook, “Marketing Communications: Integrated Theory, Strategy, and Tactics”. Previously, he was faculty at the Smeal College of Business Administration, Pennsylvania State University.
